west michigan | The machine identifies a calf by reading its electronic ear tag when it steps into the stall. Calves are allowed a certain amount per day based on their age, and are limited to only drinking so much every two hours to prevent slug feeding. The machine mixes the milk on demand a half liter at a time. It continues making milk as long as the calf stays in the stall drinking or until the calf reaches its limit for the time period. The mixing bowl has a scale to measure the amount of powder and water dispensed. Our unit cost around 18k installed. | |
