NW Iowa | Having tame trained horses at bay would be the problem. The funeral home would need to be connected with a local draft horseman with the right stock. You wouldn't want skittish horses. I went to the funeral of an old dyed in the wool draft horseman a few years ago. The funeral was in his farm house complete with an antique pump organ and the casket went to the country cemetery in the back of a triple box wagon pulled by two of his horses in show harness. It brought a tear to my eye. This man had done the horse chores, went to the house sat down and passed away. The last thing he did before he passed was take care of his beloved horses. | |
