| Usually try to kick calves out on wheat and leave cows in trap, fence line
Don't necessarily need hay out with wheat pasture but I'll put some good grass hay for fresh calves
Wheat not ready just grass hay and a soy hull based pellets at 2-3 lbs a day
Like soy hulls on a calf better than corn, easier on the rumen etc etc
The place I usually do this - triticale is not rooted this year - need a rain pretty soon
Grass hay is your best friend - catch the sick ones early - sounds like you are on the right track | |
