It still exists in the world. The US and then Mexico eradicated it and the old system of eradication through sterile male release will still work if needed. Biggest issue is reporting any possible cases that may occur. Don't hide any possibilities.
The vet I took the calf pictured above told me if I thought it could be screw worms he had to report it. I showed him pics of the maggots, he never commented either way.
