I wish you luck. Your post shows your enthusiasm. I'm sure your Dad knows what he's doing. My interest comes from the dark side of the business. I've talked to many, many growers who have had bad experiences. They either questioned something the integrator wanted them to do or they talked to their neighbors and tried to leverage their relationships to bring a better deal for the growers. All too often that didn't turn out well. The poultry and hog industry are lost as an entrepreneurial endeavor. Contract production is the only vehicle available today to enter these two enterprises. I hope and pray that this method of business stops with hogs and poultry. If cattle and row crops become "chickenized" we are nothing but hired hands working for a wage on our own farms.
