Think a mix of 2/3 oats - 1/3 whole cottonseed fed at 1% of bw daily would work well. Just want them growing but not push them too hard. Keep them growing but lean so if/when you have wheat pasture they won't back up when turned out. If wheat doesn't ever come around can always push them fairly hard for last 45-60 days before shipping out.
