Central Kansas
I am a lot different than most when it comes to bull power. I have all fall calving cows. Start calving around September 10th and go to around November 10th. Turn out bulls December 1st and pull off Febuary 1st. On 150 cows I turn out 10 bulls. But I actually only own 5. The guy I buy bulls from let's me use 5 of his and then in the summer he uses my 5 bulls on his spring calving cows. I really like this arrangement, he sells me very good bulls for an extremely reasonable price knowing he gets to then use them. I don't have to feed them year round. I usually get 50% of the calves in the first 15-20 days, and 75% in the first 30 days.
