SWMN | In our barn we have a tank in one pen next to a gate with one bar removed by the water tank. The heifers reach through the gate and drink from tank allowing 2 pens to utilize the same tank. In the spring, we pull out the tanks and replace them with water cups; this has worked out well since the water is always fresh in the summer and we don't have issues with algae in the tanks. I find that the fans in the summer u=se about the same amount of electricity that the tank heaters use in the winter. Where are you located in MN? We are by Lamberton. | |
