Martinsville, Ohio | Keeton's are very popular here York with most farmers putting down a product like a 6-24-6 with micro's on corn, various combinations on other crops. We do have access to many different fertilizer products from ortho based to half or part ortho based to non ortho based fertilizer. In corn many put the 28 with sulfur off the trench with a fertilizer opener but that makes for two sets of tanks and pumps and filling gets to be more time consuming. But you do have the fertilizer where it will do the most good.
I see more and more Keeton's on drill setups but they are not the norm. There are so many different combinations.
Most address the major P and K needs with a dry program broadcast here, some do it in the row. I have had good results adding micro's to the dry with pellet lime to get a good spread but you need a good blend, good equipment and a knowledgeable operator.
