North Central Iowa | We switched to Christian Healthcare Ministries in Feb and have been please so far but really haven't had much to turn in. Our monthly cost went from 1200 mo $11000 deductible to 415 mo with the highest level of coverage CHM had. Local hospital and clinic now give 30% discount for cash pay. The key is you have to ask for the discount. Most place/doctors will try and give you the best rate if you ask. I just had a physical and some blood work done and they had a special for cash customers $75. The doctor had a brochure for cash customer but insurance was bill 3x the cash cost. Call around to your local clinic or doctor and ask if they give cash discounts. It will take you out of your comfort zone but you will get use to asking and you will probably be surprised on how many people are dropping their health ins. You are not alone. My wife, four children and myself.
