Happens every day.... ESPECIALLY if a person has any reason to fear they will be terminated if they let the secret out that they are using up their vacation/maternity/other benefits before they leave....
If your wife continues to do the work of two for the pay of one, why will they hire anyone else???? She is being taken advantage of, but not by the maternity leave person...
