 Leesburg, Ohio | I use one Dawn Curvetine on each row. I left a row on one end of the planter with two cast wheels, and put two Dawns on the other end row. I have seen a significant difference in emergence, more of a difference in some conditions than others. The row with two curvetines always comes up first, closely followed by the 10 rows with one curvetine, and later the one row with two cast wheels.
I like the curvetines because I think they do a nicer job than straight tines in conventional/minimum tillage. We do some no-till and some conventional. If was all no-till corn, I would definately consider the Martins that Ed mentioned. I have seen some very good stands of corn as I drive past his place hauling grain to the river. | |
