Subject: RE: Borrowing stuff out

central ohio..between Springville and Millbrook.
I was fine with lending stuff out until this year...now I think it's time to quit helping people out completely, but I don't wanna be that way.

couple weeks ago a young, agressive guy in our area stopped in at my place to ask if he could use my new skid loader to pick up some bales. I said sure, but the engine oil is drained put of it to change from break in oil to regular oil. I told him it needed a new filter and that I was gonna run and grab it in the morning. (thought he would offer to grab the filter, but no)
next morning when I was coming home with the filter I passed one of my landlords houses and the kid was parked in the driveway chatting the landlord up. I didn't think much of it...just continued on home and put the filter on. the kid took the loader and headed down the road.
about 10 minutes later the landlord pulled in (he must have passed the kid pulling my loader) and asked:
"did you just lend him your skid loader "?
me: "yeah, why??"
landlord: "cause he was at my place earlier trying to rent my farm away from you!!"
