Subject: RE: Have coyotes caught everything

Hastings, Florida

Different situation here in the Bikini State, but the quail disappeared years ago. I might see one covey a year, used to see daily. Skunks are making a comeback after being absent for a long time.Plenty of raccoons around, as are oppossums, their populations have grown.Wild hogs are more plentiful, but the largest increase over the last 10 years has been turkeys. I see many nearly every day.Bears and gators are too many around to count, they recently allowed bear hunting again.Deer about the same.Coyotes are increasing.
Our problem is  so much land is being developed, and new houses are being planted where the wildlife lives. Now these new Floridians do not care for gators, bears, and such, but they live in the country, and the creatures were there first.
Game wardens tell me Mother Nature will control the population, diseases will thin the herd when a species has too many members to support .
