| Ed, when planting beans an inch or less I quit running double spades cause in our soils it would break capillary action below seed depth allowing the seed to dry out. Seems like I need to plant 1.5 in or more to completely avoid the problem. I run the points 2.5 inches at the closest point. My deere planter has cast iron closing arms with no down pressure. I would like to run the spades all the time, not just corn. Any suggestions? | |
