![](/profile/get-photo.asp?memberid=32362&type=profile&rnd=1) SE Nebraska | I just thought they should put the cones on the shoulder and then the people cutting the concrete could move them into the lane as they go along. I didn't realize that the cones could only be moved by the traffic control company.
They did some pavement repair in Lincoln a couple of months ago, and that is how they did it. Moved something like 40 blocks over several weeks like a caterpillar. The cones lead the workers and were moved back after the concrete cured.
Went on a vacation to NC last month and somewhere along the way we ran into some road construction. They had the usual slow speed/fines double signs, but they had blinky lights on top of the sign for when the workers were present. No blinky, no slow speed. I kind of liked that. I'm sure working on the road with traffic whizzing by is a pretty dangerous job, but why not bump the limit up some when there's nobody there? It seems like most people drive faster anyway. | |
