Its his dime but I hate to see him go and spend the time and money and the pumps still gets destroyed. I doubt it's grit . . . . there's plenty of grit in sewage and that chopper pump should handle what ever is dumped into it. The issue with softener water dumping into a septic tank/drain field is very bad. It will shorten the lift of the drain field and kills helpful bacteria that breaks down the sewage in the tank. If you think about it, softener rinse water is a chloride source . . . . salt is after all mostly chlorides . . . . . . . . . Drain it onto the driveway . . . it'll help keep the dust down and ice melted . |
