It isn't the farmer the (average) consumer hates it is big ag and what it has come to represent in the consumer's mind. The problem I see is that even when the consumer has a valid point many farmers get immediately defensive and basically jump to the defense of large agribusiness. It blows my mind that we wage the PR wars for companies that basically are trying to run everyone out of business so they can continue to vertically integrate.
