The No-Till will really make you think twice.
That is for sure! For the yield difference, the extra pass with the sprayer, and some extra fuel and planter wear seeding, a lot of tillage can be done! Maybe this year was unfair given how dry it was in June and July, but isn't no-till supposed to be better at conserving moisture? Strip till looks interesting; we spend a lot of time and fuel making it really rough (plowing), and then a lot more time and fuel trying to smooth it out again!
We were a little surprised at the difference between the two fields for the Pioneer P9675R. Usually plowed alfalfa gives the best corn for us. |
