Take a soil sample from the same square foot and send it to several labs and see the difference in the N test.
Test for N now and then again come spring.
If SOM releases 10-20# per year per %... We don't know how many lbs and when.
Some years take more N then others per bu of corn.
Also N isn't that expensive right now so we don't want to run short.
