Soutwest Ks. | I am blowing 100 lbs. of 11-52-0 in front of the anhydrous shank between two waffle coulters approx. 6" apart. The shank hits this dry and scatters some of it but the mound builders pull all this back in incorporating the mixture. (hopefully)
I run an older Tyler cart that will not allow any restriction in the line so consequently I haven't been able to inject with the knife. I also am applying 200 lbs. of actual N with anhydrous with this operation. I intend to put 6-7 gal. of 10-34-0 in the slice when I plant and probably pump another 30-40 lbs. N on with sprinkler pivots. What I do isn't rocket science and I certainly can't brag about having the best yields in the county but I'm still churning and learning. I put together my own strip till design four years ago using an Orthman cultivator as a start. Farm in SW KS. | |
