Results were surprisingly good for how dry it was in June and July. The plot field was in oats last year with red clover underseeded. Liquid dairy manure was applied last fall and the field was chisel plowed. Lots of green left on top. Manure applied again this spring, then cultivated twice. Was pretty rough to plant due to all the clover root clumps.
The no-till experiment looked tough all year. It didn't help that the alfalfa was never completely killed, even after being sprayed three times.
