Don't forget pH. Have your pH in the 6.0 and higher. pH of 5.8 and below will be tough.
Use plenty of inoculant. Use a sterile peat (10-15 times higher counts than non-sterile) and use a double rate. If your dealer can apply a liquid, use a single rate there and a single rate peat in the planter.
