E. Kansas | I was raised that you have to check the tail gate when you get to the field, no matter where or when the truck was last dumped. After seeing my dad scoop up a lot of wheat when I was a little boy because the tail gate wasn't fully closed, it made a lasting impression....lol.
Make it your policy, when you get back to the field, check the tail gate, hopper traps, etc right when you get out of the truck.
You can expect the elevator guys to fully close gates and traps, but ultimately you have to be responsible that your own equipment is ready to dump grain into at the field.
