If you didn't want to do that, you could get on 71 at Joplin/Carthage and just head north. Only issue you may have is the scales in Joplin. You could bypass those by taking HWY 10 in Vinita and take that to Seneca, go north on 43 then get on I44 and take 71 to Nevada.
