The post below gives me this thought everytime I unload at elevator. The guys there are really nice and do a great job of unloading our crops when we bring them in. They always will open and close the wagons (for everyone).
When I unload at home, I ALWAYS scratch the corners clean to make sure that the gate can get shut tight. I have seen a little crack trcikle corn a long ways when it isn't shut tight.
I never let the co-op guys shut my wagons...I try to be as polite about it as I can. Had one guy ask me once why I don't let him shut the wagon and let me pull ahead. I told him "If you don't get the door shut are you going to come out and clean up the corn in my field?"
I guess If It doesn't get closed on my watch....I can only blame myself!
What happens where you unload? I guess when I turn 70 (and I am still trying to earn a living) I may just let them guys do it. | |
