NE SD | We spot welded a 1/4" rod on the bottom front of the traps on our semi's (i'll try to describe in a sec) so the grain cart guy can see if the traps are open or closed when he pulls up beside to fill. It runs underneath at the front edge of the slide and curves straight up on the outside of the hopper. You can see exactly how far the slide is open since it's essentially part of it and it moves right along with it. Spray painted it fluorescent orange to be able to see, and we also put a line on the hopper itself for all the way open and all the way closed. Slick when you go to town and the guys at the pit run the traps. Now they don't hold the button for 3 seconds after it hits the stops. Indicator rod gets to the line and you know it's closed.
Long horrible explanation that would probably be best served with a pic lol, I'll try to remember to take one this morning before we get started. | |
