All of the above are true. Inoculation, a ph of 6.5, and plenty of potash are the keys to good yields. Planting as shallow as possible to get to good moisture gets u a good stand. We plant 140k but would recommend more like 160k for first time beans as they seem to modulate faster when pops are higher.
