Lancaster, OH | I think you should. Why? Because in a plot you will have maturities that span a full group so when the longest are able to be cut, the earlier are shattering and too dry. In a real world situation, you would harvest when ready, not when the fullest season soybean is ready to start.
IMHO, I would plant a plot like that and split it in the middle with the mid- season variety being planted twice. I'd harvest the first half when ready, then the second half. Then I'd have a better idea without having the shatter loss and moistures unfairly skewing the results. | |
