Subject: RE: Grain sorghum and sugar cane aphid

perryton, tx
I have a field where we started spraying Sep 9, and then got rained out and didn't go back to finish. It's a huge difference visible right to the row between what was treated and what wasn't. The treated side plants are all still green and healthy, standing well, and maturing normally. What wasn't is completely dried out, lodging, and has less grain in the heads. The condition of the plants resembles severe drought stress that hit after heading even though the plants had plenty of moisture. I had seven different varieties planted over a 3-4 week period and they all got infested to some degree or another so I'm having a hard time making comparisons. We haven't started harvest on anything yet.
