I don't know if they can pick up anything like a soybean or mungbean seed without damage (I highly doubt it), but with only twelve fingers the meters would have to turn way too fast to drop a reasonable population. The fingers for sure won't pick up anything smaller, like sorghum. The best purely mechanical meter for most other rowcrops is a Kinze brush meter. A volumetric drill meter can plant a lot of things, albeit with no singulation.
