Subject: RE: Disc vs. chisel on bean stubble

Northeastern Pa.
We did a test this year on a new to me 40 acre river flat strip. chiseled 1/3, just disked 1/3 and no-tilled 1/3. Now I am just going by bean plant height and health but the chiseled is fuller and taller then disked is jut a bit shorter and no-till 6" shorter. This ground was no-tilled 15 years straight and in a corn/bean rotation. We will chisel it all for next year as I feel there is some issues running combines etc. over it. Our combine yield monitor will tell the true story in a few weeks. I know I'm a sinner for breaking up no-till ground but I've been around no-till before it was cool tool.
