Subject: Disc vs. chisel on bean stubble

mid Illinois
Dad always thought we needed to chisel the bean stubble in the fall, to loosen the ground up. Old versatile and chisel, burning a little over 1 gal. Diesel per acre, so fuel and equipment costs are minimal. I am just wondering if others see no yield benefit to chiseling or ripping the bean ground going into corn next year, and just lightly disc it? Disc would cover more than twice the acres per hour. Central Illinois location.
