Absolutely fascinating. Just the part on the politics surrounding whether cigarette smoking was dangerous is worth the price of the book (and the book is priceless, IMO).
Crazy Fact:
The first person to use chemotherapy to cure cancer in an adult in the USA was Dr. Min Li.
He was subsequently fired by the National Cancer Institute, (his employer). They said he used too much chemotherapy drug. But his cures were permanent. Theirs (NCI) were not.

Cancer is a SET of diseases that is extremely difficult to treat.
However, cures are happening everyday. There have been many false promises, but progress has been made and is continuing to be made and we are seeing fantastic progress.
Don't believe it? Look at childhood leukemia statistics or ask any oncologist (especially one who treated cancer in the 1950's).
