South Dakota | I use strip till for the very reasons you do. We've got some high PH soils and broadcasting dry fertilizer is pointless in those situations. I strip till my high ph ground and no till everything else. I strip till my irrigated corn acres cause I've seen research on tillage practices under pivot on the Great Plains and it is pretty compelling. We use starter at planting too, so the plant has layers of fertility to grow through and it's right where the plant needs it. | |
