| I think I see the problem....Generac! We had a unit from them for 8 or 9 years. Made me think I needed to go to church more after fighting with that thing. Had more worries about power failure with it than without. Had major issues with their attempt at a transfer switch. Finally destroyed itself one night, as the generator itself "expanded". Pieces literally flew out of it. No intelligent folks manning the phones at Generac back then either. (Had one tech tell me that the engine had to run backwards because the air had to blow thru' the radiator. Seemed quite surprised at the idea of a reverse fan :) Heard that they improved a bunch after our time with them. In 600 hrs, we went thru' 4 of the boards you have there, 2 motors for the switch, 2 breakers for the switch, 1 fan on the generator, 1 trickle charger board, and 1 set of timing gears (probably not their fault, it was a GM iron duke).
Good luck with your unit. I sincerely hope you have better results than what we had with ours, which we bought in '83 or so. | |
