One guy gave the required notice, and they gave him his PTO, but they put it all in his 401K. There was some bad blood in that employee/general manager relationship.
When I gave my notice, I didn't have any problems getting my accumulated 450 hours of PTO. Before anyone goes off on that amount, we could carry a max of 500 hours over at the end of the fiscal year. I had been there for 14 years, and saved as much PTO as I could in case of a major injury or illness, so I could continue to pay my portion of the insurance premiums while down. Many of us did that, in lieu of taking vacations, other than taking enough to keep it below 500 hours carry over. | |
