North Central Illinois | I still only halfway know what I am doing with combine adjustments. I run a 4400 Deere, well, actually two at the moment. Once I get the sieve set so I don't get much good grain coming up the recleaner elevator, I close down the chaffer as much as I can without throwing grain out the back. After that I crank up the fan speed as much as I can without blowing grain out the back. In small grains I sometimes tolerate a fair bit of light kernels being blown out, if they are just going to get me a dock at market. | |
