+1. I just got the bill from the hospital alone for my 9 day stay was over $128K. I paid $95 of that.

I also got a Dear John letter that my policy is being discontinued and I need to get different insurance by Dec 31. The independent agent I deal with has other companies besides BCBS so it looks like I will be checking them out. Sad to see BCBS pull out of the market because they have been reasonably good to deal with over the years.

I really liked the plan I had. $800/month premium, $2000 deductible and $2000 co-pay. I had all that used up by the end of March with normal routine stuff and a sleep study. My previous $1500/month premium, $500 deductible and 80/20 copay was killing me.

No way could someone with my poor health self insure. I would never dream of considering it.
