Faunsdale, AL | Couple years ago I was behind a short truck at the elevator and they were having to rake the "beans" out the doors and into the pit.
I asked what the trouble was and the driver laughed and said it was a "new to them" combine they got to finish after their other one burned. Spring loaded variable speed fan pulley had failed and cut the air down to nothing and it took a while before they caught it.
My sample came up higher than our normal foreign matter too and I figured they were grading harder after looking at the mess they had just unloaded. When I got back home, our combine was stopped and the same pulley had come apart on it! So I guess the grade I got was probably right. | |
