Pioneer P0157 double ears all the time here but can abort it pretty easily in our dry climate too. DK 50-63/50-64 will double ear more than any other Dekalb number I have seen. The 50-63 doesn't double ear as much as the P0157 though. As far as double earing goes though Mycogen 2V717 is a 113 day RM corn that tillers like crazy. It is the only plant I have ever seen consistently put an ear on the tiller or even multiple tillers. We have a field planted at 16K but we got a discount on it for low germ. So we only got a final stand of around 13-14K. Gonna yield around 140 on that population. The amount of skips are noticable but the plants on either side of the skip have multiple tillers with ears on them. Even the plants without skips by them have 2 tillers with ears on them. It is pretty impressive really.
