North Central Ohio | I do not farm but work for a co-op (and therefore I work for the farmer(s)). I chose this career because it allows me to live and work close to family, church family, and in the rural community I grew up in. Wanted my wife and kids to be close to their inlaws/grandparents. Went to university for something other than ag, had two prestigious internships and very promising career prospects but shortly after graduating realized that there is a value I place on the previously mentioned aspects and it outweighed the 'rat-race' big city hectic life-style that my other career appeared to be heading toward. I do not necessarily love what I do now... but I love that it enables me to enjoy other aspects of life that I hold in higher esteem.
Thanks for the nostalgia-provoking question :) | |
