For corn and beans they can be handy if you are not a large producer. Better trade activity than say KC Wheat.
Commission I pay is the same for mini or full size, so they are more expensive by a few cents per bu. Like you said using them as a hedge is it not that big of a deal.
I can haul 1000bu per load, so that matches up nicely.
