Guessing they are cheaper because that model is being phased out. 800 lumens only puts it at 80 lumens per watt which is pretty poor. Most now are running 100-125 lumens per watt and some are pushing 150.
There is a guy on YouTube who reviews screw in bulbs from different companies and stores. He comparis longevity and light quality. I was actually surprised at how much difference there actually was.
I have heard (and I can't verify) that Menards and others get a big percentage of their lighting from unclaimed merchandise at the ports. That's why brands and style change so often. True or not I can't say.
What are the better brands with higher lumens per watt output ? I have Cree, Fiet, light science, GE and Sylvania LED bulbs and all are 800 lumens with 9.5-10 watts input.
