My biggest missed opportunity was not spending more time with my grandma before she passed. When she got sick I spent as much time at her bedside I as could. While sitting there I wondered why I hadn't spent the time with her sooner.
My father, her ex son in law, came in to see her. She was so excited that he stopped by after over 20 years of not seeing her. Made my day and hers.
