Hagen Brothers farms,Goodrich ND
I was a loyal 40 year Culligan user, but the cost was kind of crazy even though we had little trouble with it.
We bought a new one for the new house , Eco Pure, made in Minnesota, so help and parts supply is almost local. Cost at Runnings farm store was about 1/3 that of Culligan. I looked at another brand mainly because of advice from softner savvy folks here on NAT.
The thing has a very simple reliable and user repairable control head. It is geared to rural home owner installation and service, so the operators book is in simple terms and involves common hand tools. It has been trouble free for 2 years now and uses about 1/2 the salt of the old Culligan. It takes less space as the salt tank and softner unit are all in the same cabinet. It is a 40,000 grain softener.
We also use Eco Pure whole house filter before the softener (5 micron) and an Eco Pure under the sink RO filter system for drinking / cooking water). Very happy with all of them.
