Start over, test water, shop around.
At my home, I need a filter to take out the "sulfur dioxide?" (off odor) then it goes thru a water softener. I have a 14 yr old sears "recharge on demand"... Which is recharged based on the amount of water used.
I have some iron, and probably my water softener is about shot, after this amount of time/use.
Best water softener for the money
