Ontario
and how would i do that? even buying all old 60s and 70s equipment you need at least a couple hundred thousand plus $15k per acre to buy or $300 to rent and all your inputs. i also didn't have a single clue what i was doing. all i had ever done in the past was use the discs and harrows so i knew nothing about planting, spraying, harvesting ect.

on top of the how, why would i do that when there's 300 acres plus almost all the equipment i'd need just sitting there? why would i go massively into debt and just guess my way through getting what would probably be a horrible crop when i could have my grandfather to help guide me?

see this is the problem these days, boomers think we should just fight tooth and nail for everything and god forbid anyone ever has any sort of help yet their parents i'm sure helped them plenty and most likely left them the farm too. i'm not saying everything should just be handed to me but wtf is wrong with a little help? it's really sad when we live in a time where people think land should just be rented/sold to strangers rather then letting family have a shot at farming.
