West of Broken Bow | This was taken possibly around 1870 in Cleburne,TX. The site is where the Farmers Market originally was located along Main Street which is FM 174. It has been said that my family's cousins owned the first refrigerated grocery store in Cleburne, which was directly across from the Farmers Market. In the photo appears to be a store in that same area where our cousins store was suggested to be located. We don't know when the store opened or closed. I even visited the museum in town and couldn't find info on them or the store.
There is a large tree shown and I'll refrain mentioning for now on what is believed to have been the main use for it.
I used to occasionally stop and visit the Market with family at the same exact spot. Unfortunately the city closed this historical site down and opted to start it at another spot in town.
Anyone recognize this photo or know history about the Market and town they'd like to share?
