Subject: RE: Wind Turbines

In my neck of the woods..er surf... the projects are being slated for offshore with one going in off Block Island, aka Deepwater Wind ..... http://dwwind.com/project/block-island-wind-farm/ .Folks, rich folks with seaside homes, are fighting the introduction of the wind towers along the Massachusetts(Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, & Hyannis Port), Rhode Island(Narragansett Bay, Block Island), Long Island( THE Hamptons), and down to the New Jersey coasts. Being a migration route many naturalists are predicting a disruption to the bird populations heading south...or north. The unfortunate part is that if regional governments own the rights to the waters they can choose to do what they want and in many states in the northeast the governments are looking for creative ways to stem the financial bleed.

This is a good read on the complexities of politics, big projects, profitability, and big corps......... http://www.forbes.com/sites/christopherhelman/2016/04/20/is-america...
